FL Windstorm Mitigation Inspections
What is a Florida Windstorm Mitigation Inspection?
It is a short, 15 minute inspection of your home, that could save you thousands of dollars that you would be paying to your insurance company.
Many people living in Florida do not know about this program established by the State. It was established several years ago to encourage people to strengthen their homes from high winds due to hurricanes.
This inspection can only be completed by a Licensed Building Contractor, or state certified inspector.
What is the Inspector looking for during the inspection?
The inspector will be looking at the type of roof on your house. A Hip roof can save you up to 30% on windstorm insurance. Your roof to wall attachment in the attic, (Hurricane straps or clips) can also save up to 15% on your insurance premium.
The age of the roof, concrete block walls, and hurricane shutters all qualify for insurance discounts.
What does the Windstorm inspection cost?
$100 for a home
$80 for a condo
Your insurance discounts will be effective for 5 years after this inspection.
My Guarantee:
If you do not save at least the cost of this inspection, I will REFUND the difference.
What other services do you provide?
We try to help protect your home during a hurricane by installing Gable End Bracing and Garage Door Supports. Just these two things will help get larger insurance discounts.
